THE BUTCHER’S BENCH

Privacy & your data

What we save, who can see it and how to get help.

Updated 17 September 2026

Information you give us

When you create a shop account, we save your name, shop name, username, billing email, selected plan and shop time zone. Passwords are stored as protected hashes, rather than readable passwords.

Your shop also saves the information you enter into its tools: recipes, prices, stock, invoices, customer orders, jobs, temperature checks, images and reports. Managers may add staff contact details, permissions, rosters and recorded hours. Only enter information needed to run your shop and make sure you are authorised to share it.

Why we use this information

We use account and shop information to provide your workspace, save and reopen work, manage access, verify subscription payments and answer support requests. Technical request information and security records help prevent abuse and investigate faults. Notifications are sent through the app and, if you enable them, your device’s push notification service.

Who can see your shop’s work

Each shop has a separate workspace within a shared hosted database. Signed-in users are linked to their own shop. Staff share that shop’s operational work according to the permissions their manager sets. Managers can see and manage their shop’s staff details and recorded hours. Other customer shops are not given access.

Authorised support and hosting providers may need access to information to operate, maintain or troubleshoot the service. Our hosting uses Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure. Shopify handles checkout, subscriptions and payment information. Support messages are handled through our Gmail support address. These providers can process information outside Australia; storage is not represented as Australia-only.

Payments and browser storage

Card information is entered into Shopify’s checkout or customer portal. The Butcher’s Bench app does not store your full card number or security code. We receive the customer, order and payment-status details needed to link a payment to the correct shop.

We use a secure sign-in cookie to keep you logged in. Some display preferences may be stored on your device. Your saved business records are held online. The interactive demo is temporary: practice changes are not saved to an account.

Keeping and removing records

A new week does not delete saved work. Weekly history and earlier saved versions are retained to help your shop reopen its records. Cancelling subscription renewal does not automatically delete your account. Unsaved forms are not part of your saved history.

You can edit records in the tools and managers can export shop data from My account while they have access. For an access, correction or deletion request, contact us below. We verify your authority before releasing or removing shop information and explain any information that must be retained for security, billing or legal purposes.

Privacy questions or complaints

Email thebutchersbench@gmail.com with your shop name and request. Do not send passwords, recovery codes or card details. We will review the request, ask for any information needed to verify it and reply with the outcome or next steps. Staff can also contact their manager about information entered by their shop.
